We were asked to weigh our dog in the lobby. He was very excited and not very cooperative in getting weighed. The weight was all over the place. The receptionist offered me a treat to see if he would focus on the treat and allow us to get an accurate weight. The receptionist determined that the weight was 41 lbs even though we were still seeing a big fluctuation. When we saw the doctor she focused on this 15 lb wt gain saying it was a critical wt gain. My daughter tried to tell her that we had a hard time getting the wt. Despite this critical wt gain, the doctor never suggested repeating the weight to make sure she had an accurate weight. 15 lb wt gain in a dog that previously weighed 26 pounds is significant. She even suggested it could be reflective of hypothyroidism but despite this critical wt gain did not suggest getting him tested at this visit. My daughter told her that Brady has actually been getting more exercise than before so this wt gain is very hard to believe especially when the harness has not gotten any tighter. As we left, my daughter weighed him again and got 32 lbs!! I just feel I paid $238.50 for a visit focused on wt loss that was based solely on an inaccurate weight. Dr. A. should have had the weight double-checked before proceeding with our visit.

I did not request the Senior Feline Early Detection, I went just for the possible urinary track infection as an emergency visit. Just because you suggested it and automatically scheduled it, doesn’t mean that I wanted to do it for my cat. No one asked me if I agreed to do it or not. You went and dit it with out my convent, and brought my bill 150 dollars higher that it should have been. I have had many other cats, and in neither cases has that been done to them. Why suddenly this is procedure is so necessary? I think this is to cover the construction cost, because it stared just a year ago, in my case. I do not appreciate this sneaky charges in my bill.

I always recommend Meriden animal hospital. When I moved out of Meriden I switch to a vet in my town but after a year or so I knew I needed to switch back. I’m so glad I did, thank you for always caring about our pets.

Dr.James is great with my dogs, he shows how much he cares about them. I was disappointed with the attitude and demeanor of the tech with the braided pony tails (negative attitude showed)and the blonde lady who entered the exam room first ( did not introduce herself, say hello, nothing).

The ladies here are always super friendly and welcoming, and the appointments are always prompt and on time. The doctors really take the time to get to know the animals and answer any questions or concerns without making you feel stupid like some places do.

It’s very hard for me to make nail clipping appointments between 8:00 and 9:00 am only. Because of the physical limitations I have, there are numerous exercises and other things I have to do during the first thing in the morning. I would appreciate a time slot later in the day - even if it’s only one afternoon during the day week.

The office was crowded and seemed as though they had over extended themselves. Was not called back for a f/u or to review the bloodwork.

I left a specific telephone number to be called with my cats bloodwork. They called. Different number and spoke not to me but to a different member of my family who was quite emotional. When I called to get the results I was never called back. And now my vet is off for 6 days! I hope i receive a call soon. Perhaps another vet should offer to take on cases when when one Dr. is out.

Everyone is wonderful. I believe there were too many tests done and extreme costly measures taken because my dog was throwing up. I do not believe full bloodwork, sedation, xrays, sedation, birilium, xrays again and a return for X-rays the next day we re really necessary for a dog that was drinking pooping and acting totally happy and healthy

We have seen a sharp decline in customer service we receive from your front desk staff. Not pleasant when speaking to customers on the phone and messages not returned in a timely fashion.

Dr. James was great to my cat Lucas, as always!

The wait was only long due to another pets emergency which I can understand.
