Though Joey was taken at the appointed time, 12:20, for what we thought would be a quick check up- look at his gums and ears- we were not able to get Joey back until 2 pm. The Dr was new to us - Dr D...- she spent nearly 10-15 min explaining stuff on phone to my husband, who said he learned very little; when I went to collect him at the door, Dr D came out and was filled with lots of chit chat- I learned : brush dog’s teeth, & he had a chipped tooth. We couldn’t understand why this appointment ran for an hour and 40 minutes. No blood work, just a check up. Otherwise, we are happy with the care he gets from your staff. This was just out of the ordinary.

We love Dr. Young. She is always so kind and caring with our pets, without being condescending. Not sure if the ratings above were recorded properly on our iPad, but they’re all 5 stars. Thanks for the great work. The new location is great, dry benches outdoors on a rainy day.

I truly appreciate the thoroughness of the AAH staff. Even though I have moved more than 30 mins away from the office, I still will make the drive to bring my cat to AAH to this staff because the level of care is awesome, even during these COVID times.

Staff is super nice. Never a long hold on the phone. Polite and they actually listen to your request and get it right the first time!! Dr. London is an amazing, caring, conscientious vet. You can tell he loves his job -- and the animals!!

The receptionist, when scheduling, and again when on site, could have been friendlier, kinder, and more helpful. I got the feeling from her that she was somehow doing me a favor, just to be mildly cordial. I mention this only because I have been a client of AAH for decades, and never once had this feeling before,from any other person on staff. Also, after scheduling, I was contacted repeatedly, by text and email, to confirm my appointment,over and over again, which I did - no less than six times, for 2 animals, scheduled together for the exact same procedures, as always. This seems to be unnecessary and confusing. It leaves me feeling that we and our beloved Anton and Cleo have become ID numbers instead of valued members of the AAH family. I understand growth and expansion, but please don t allow this to translate into an assembly-line process. Please don t treat me as a pain-in-the-ass number. Finally, allow me to stress that the vets and vet assistants are and have always provided exemplary and compassionate care. But please rethink/retrain your first point of contact.

It really is difficult not being able to be in with our animals and the doctors. I said there was a spot on his tail that I wanted the doctor to look at. In her explanation of it, it didn t seem like she was looking at the same place I was trying to reference. All in all, I m not sure she saw the same thing I was trying to indicate so I ll just have to accept that until we can all be in the same room, these misunderstandings might just have to be.

In my 7 years of living in Virginia, this was the first time I was allowed to pay later. I was surprised and very happy about it. I realize it was because of covid 19, but still happy. Also thanks again to Miranda for helping me with Olivia. It s so nice not to hear or see her long nails.

Once again, the cost of the test was more than what I was told it would be. It would be helpful to have an itemized estimate before the appointment so that the final bill is known beforehand (with the understanding that it’s only an estimate and the bill will be more if additional work is needed).
