We already had an appointment for a yearly check up when our dog got sick the day before. We tried to get an earlier appointment but were unsuccessful. Doctor Martin was very nice & professional. We were disappointed that we could not xray done that day and will need to return 2 days later for x ray and untrasound to determine cause of illness.

Please provide a way to allow questions to be sent via email that are not urgent and can wait 48 hours to be answered. I have a voicemail waiting for Dr. Martin and I fear that based on her extremely busy schedule my request may go forgotten like the last time. Blood test results should be able to be sent electronically as well. These 2 simple upgrades will reduce the anxiety of the parents and minimize calls that would afford the staff to work on more urgent matters.

Then first person you meet upon arriving is the front desk employee. She looked at me like I just walked into a closed business office and shouldn t be there! I had to immediately asked if they take walk-ins because of this look. She was not very friendly at all. The vet tech and the Dr. Were both very inviting and nice and took care of my baby between other patients, which I so much appreciated! I probably will not visit this that again just because of the weirdness in the air in the waiting room. I did not feel welcome.

The doctor made us feel like we were not good pet owners because our dogs’ weights had changed. She also rudely snapped at me in front of other people in the lobby when I asked a question. When I asked further questions she appeared to be anxious to get going. We have been with Palmetto Pet Hospital for about 4 years and I have never seen Dr Martin be impatient with us before. I am very disappointed. I have been a patient to Dr Martins since the late 1980’s. I specifically asked for an appt with Dr Martin. No one ever told me that it was not. When I arrived I was told it would be a minute due to an emergency and that they were running way behind. They finally put me in a room someone else had just been in and never cleaned it. When I asked if Dr Martin was there I was told no, I explained I had asked to see her so I asked if I could reschedule. I was told I could but it would take a few weeks to get in. I explained I needed to get shots updated in order to board them so I would proceed with their shots and I would like it if they could please trim their nails and I would come back for their annual visit with Dr Martin. Someone, later rushed in, I have no idea if it was the Dr or not, gave them their shots and then said they didn’t have time for anything else because they were really behind. I had an appt for both dogs for a full exam and they could not find time to trim their nails? This is not the kind of practice that I have become a loyal client of Dr Martins for. And in Feb I called 3 times about an appointment for a Dental Cleaning and was never called back. What has happened to this once great practice and the good service I was used to? I sincerely hope Dr Martin sees this review.

I know these are times that there are shortage of workers. I did have to wait awhile but I do understand so not a big deal. I did notice that the table and scale were dirty. I assumed some one would clean it, but no one did. It was too late to say anything but this did bother me. I would have cleaned it myself if I had known. I know that being short handed was the problem. I hope there weren’t any fleas or germs there. It has always been so clean before. Rest of facility was clean. I just suggest to please clean the surface of table and scale after each animal.

I dropped off dogs for boarding. No price given. Website clearly states you can pick up Saturday and Sunday, staff says not true. Boarding forms should not be emailed. I did not know this in advance.
