I do not recall the vet tech ever introducing herself, nor did the doctor introduce herself to me when she entered the room. This was my first time ever at this practice, and no one even bothered to introduce themselves or treat my dog and I like a new patient with basic introductions and explanation of how the visit would progress. The vet tech was kind enough to inform me that the doctor was running a few minutes behind and would see me shortly. When the vet tech returned with the doctor, the tech abruptly grabbed my puppy without informing me that she would be doing so, put my puppy up on the exam table, and proceeded to hold my clearly-scared-puppy in a head lock. I understand that she was trying to assist the doctor in positioning my puppy for the doctor to complete the physical exam, but this definitely could have been done in a more friendly and respectful/considerate way to my puppy and more importantly, been explained to me ahead of time as the owner. If you don t want dogs to be scared of the vet s office, they must be treated better than this. I felt that my puppy and I were just chopped liver, not individuals with whom the staff wanted to make a personal connection with. I must say I was quite disappointed in this aspect of interpersonal skills between the staff and I as well as between the staff and my puppy. The doctor spent maybe 5 minutes total in the room with my puppy and me before leaving, adding to the feeling that being seen at this office was no different than being a car on the assembly line. I would not hesitate to switch vet offices for this reason should I find another with prices competitive with this office.

It was a very good experience and a reasonably priced. The staff was wonderful.

I love Dr Smith and all the girls that work there! Everyone is so kind and sweet! And Dr Smith is very thorough with my kitty and her explanations and never tries to talk me into doing something I don t want to do. She s very thoughtful! ??

I thoroughly enjoy bringing my dogs to rutherford vet. Everyone is so professional and so kind to my dogs in myself. We have been through a major Emergency with one of our dogs and the team was fantastic.

The explanations by Dr. Willis made the difference in how I viewed my dog s care. I brought my pup there as a 2nd opinion. The problem isn t cleared up yet but I do feel more informed about possible solutions moving forward. I feel comfortable that her exam & assessment was thorough. She made me feel like I was taking good care of my pup & not just being a hypochondriac mom...lol! That part didn t bother me as much but I still thought it was nice that she was reassuring.

It took a couple months to get an appointment, but since it was non urgent that was okay. Staff was wonderful

We love Dr Christian. She made us feel at ease about our concerns with the lesion on our dogs face. We were about to get seen quickly because of a cancellation.

If you have an appointment you can get in and out fast. But if you have to come as a walk in you have to wait 2 to 3 hours. Should have a vet just for that just in case something is serious. Love them all there.

The vet tech was exceptionally helpful in trying to obtain a urine specimen for my dog at the end of his visit. Staff is always friendly and very professional.

It is hard to get an appointment but once in, it is great. Everyone without exception is friendly and courteous. I am extremely grateful for the walk in availability in the mornings and on Saturday -as I have needed to utilize this. Dr. Michelle is extremely kind not to mention dedicated. I am grateful our dogs care has been under her expertise.

Dr. Michelle Toms was awesome!!! My pets have been patients here for years, but this was the first time I have seen her. She was so kind and so thorough. My pet was having some issues and needed to be neutered quickly and she added him on to her next day for surgery. The staff has always been so awesome. You actually feel like family at Rutherford Vet!!!

We’re new to the area, and are glad to have found a veterinary hospital with such a caring staff. They spent more than two hours examining and treating our four cats and getting to know us. Very impressed.

Appts were at 3:30 and 4:00 waited approximately 45 minutes before being called back
