We are residents of Phoenix during the winter months. With a new puppy we needed to establish with an animal care provider. And we made the right choice with Union Hills Animal Hospital. Quality care for our pup. We are very pleased.

Chairs were a little torn up from animals on them; maybe don t use fake leather? Cost was a bit more than expected this year. I understand inflation, but this was significantly more for annual basics than last year.

All staff at Union Hills Animal Hospital are caring and understand our pets needs. Our Cat needed surgery and Dr Goshert kept us up to date, called daily post op and cant say anything negative about this team. Thank you all !!! Roxie is on the mend.

My dog came in for an ear infection in her left ear requiring an ear swab. The tech swabbed the left ear twice. After the second swab she went to do it again thinking she didn t have enough of a sample. I pointed out that she had already done the left. She swabbed the right with the same swab she used on the left. The test results show that she has an infection in both ears and I m following treatment as such, but the sample for the right ear isn t accurate. And if it wasn t infected before, it was after the sample was taken. There were two receptionists when I was there. The one with short blond hair was nice. The second with longer brown hair is somewhat rude and rushing. Her attitude is that a dog being anxious is an inconvenience including eye rolling. And her mishearing me, resulted in a heavy sigh and an annoyed attitude. This is the first time my dog has had an anxious experience at the vet. A big portion of that had to do with the crying happening in the next room. I suspect a dog was put down right when we got there due to the sobbing and lack of dog steps along with human as they were leaving. I don t lack sympathy for this but as a future thing, schedule new patients before or a while after euthanasia happens. My dogs first experience of your office is sensing dogs die there. She has no prior relationship with the doctor or the staff to know they re okay people. The staff didnt have time or the capacity to allow the time to establish a postive relationship. If I d known that a obviously emotionally trying appointment was going to happen before I would have rescheduled for the sake of my dog and for the sake of the staff. You have a lot of great reviews. I m taking my experience as circumstantial for the most part. My suggestion is just to sit down with your one receptionist who has a reactive demeanor. Or improve things a bit so people are happier. And in the future be able to maybe have a system that gives all of you the ability to possibly space out when emotionally trying appointments will happen so it doesn t effect the next patient and the performance of your techs. But especially the techs, because the mistake with the ear swab could I m sure have been avoided if that tech had been give five minutes to just shake off and breath through what had just gone on in the next room. And I mean that genuinely as working in the animal medicine field is mentally and physically stressful. It s a luxury to take that kind of time, I get that. But literally, your receptionist could have not offered me that time slot the day before when I made the appointment and the whole staff could have just taken a second. If that appointment was made after my initial call, you guys could have called back and asked to reschedule. There was a different one later that day. You had times open the next day. My case wasn t severely urgent. It would have been fine. If we re thinking from a fiscal standpoint, yeah you re out the profit from that time slot. But as it stands you re now down a patient that could be recurring and out word of mouth recommendations from the owner. I m not saying that to imply I m going to bad mouth your establishment. It s why I m leaving a private review. I don t want to. I m trying to make a case to whoever is running the scheduling that maybe you guys have to reconsider how things are set up so you re taking care of staff as efficiently as possible as well.

The whole staff took time to be sweet to my very grumpy old dog. They advised the best course of action, helped him where they could and gave me a referral to complete his care. In general they were kind, helpful and surprisingly cost effective. I plan on bringing all my pets to Dr. Susan Goshert and staff.
